Focus and Scope

Focus

The Proceeding of the Takengon International Conference (TIC) publishes selected papers presented at the annual Takengon International Conference, organised by the Institute for Research and Community Engagement (LPPM) of IAIN Takengon. Its focus is to bring together scholarship that reads global questions through local knowledge, taking the Gayo highlands and the wider Indonesian archipelago as its point of departure, and to make that scholarship openly available to readers and researchers anywhere.

TIC gives particular attention to work that connects cultural identity, education, law, and the economy of local communities with wider debates on sustainability and social resilience. Empirical studies, field research, and well-grounded conceptual work are all welcome.
