Instructions for Authors

  1. The paper submitted has never been published and is not being sent to another conference or journal at the same time.
  2. The paper is written for the Proceeding of the Takengon International Conference and falls within one of the areas listed in Focus and Scope.
  3. Paper length is 4,000 to 8,000 words, including references.
  4. The paper is written in English. The writing follows these Author Guidelines and the manuscript template.
  5. The structure of a research paper is title, author's name (accompanied by institutional address and e-mail address), abstract (accompanied by keywords), introduction, method, results and discussion, conclusion, and references.
  6. The title of the paper is no more than 12 words.
  7. The name of the author is listed without an academic degree, accompanied by the name of the institution and the e-mail of the author, placed under the title. If the manuscript is written by more than one person, the e-mail listed is only that of the corresponding author.
  8. Abstract and keywords are written in English. The abstract is 100 to 150 words long, accompanied by 3 to 5 keywords. The abstract at least contains the objective, the method, and the results.
  9. The introduction contains the background, the research context, the results of the literature review, and the research objectives. All introductory parts are presented in integrated paragraph form.
  10. The method section contains paragraphs on the research design, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis.
  11. The results and discussion section explains the results of the analysis in relation to the research objectives. The discussion relates those results to relevant theories and comparable research.
  12. The conclusion answers the objective of the paper and is presented in paragraph form rather than bullet points.
  13. All papers are reviewed anonymously by double-blind reviewers appointed by the editor on the basis of their area of expertise. The author must revise the manuscript according to the recommendations of the reviewers and the editors.
  14. The reference list contains only the sources referenced in the paper, and every source referenced must be listed in the reference list.
  15. Reference sources for empirical research papers are at least 20 references. At least 70% of the total references used are primary sources in the form of research articles in journals, especially from Sinta-accredited journals and reputable international journals. At least 80% of references are published within 10 years.
  16. Reference sources for literature study papers are at least 40 references, with the same proportions. The main considerations for acceptance are the strength of the scientific dialogue, the sharpness of the synthesis, and the theoretical contribution.
  17. Reference and quotation use the APA Style 6th edition reference technique. Direct quotations are accompanied by the page number from which the citation came. Example: Prell (2013: 90) or (Prell, 2013: 90).
  18. The reference list is recommended to be prepared using reference management tools (Zotero, Mendeley, and others), arranged alphabetically referring to APA Style 6th edition.
