Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) subjects at MIS Safinatussalamah. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological study design was employed to understand the firsthand experiences of teachers and students. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with IRE teachers, and student questionnaires. The findings reveal that the implementation of PjBL was carried out effectively through several project stages, such as determining fundamental questions, designing project plans, creating schedules, monitoring progress, assessing outcomes, and evaluating experiences. This application proved to enhance students' religious understanding, foster collaborative skills, and promote learning autonomy. However, challenges such as limited time allocation and the need for more adequate resources were encountered. The study concludes that PjBL is a potential and effective method to enrich IRE learning, with recommendations to optimize time management and the provision of supporting facilities
